SEND A SHOUT OUT
Appreciate Others, Recognise Excellence and Celebrate Success
What is the Appreciation and Recognition program?
At Aviation Australia, our people are central to our success. It is through the efforts of our people that we deliver excellence to our customers day in, day out. Our Appreciation and Recognition Program provides us with a platform to call out and celebrate the contributions of our colleagues in a variety of meaningful ways. This includes Annual Staff Awards, milestone Years of Service Awards and now… Shout Outs!
Shout Outs have been created so you can acknowledge the daily efforts, initiatives, and positive behaviours that make our AA community exceptional. It’s about showing appreciation for the small and big wins alike and fostering an environment where our values are not just words, but actions lived every day.
If you would like to show your appreciation by recognising the actions of a colleague, Send a Shout Out now.

Shout Out Examples
Safety Example
Engage and participate in Aviation Australia’s safety protocols including completing any training courses required and documenting any safety concerns in Qudos. “I’d like to give a shoutout to Joanne who demonstrated our value of safety this week when she made a quick decision about removing a safety hazard when I was unsure what to do. This prevented others tripping over the hazard as I had done.”
Be Accountable Example
You accept responsibility for the tasks and projects assigned to you, ensuring they are completed to the best of your ability. This includes both the successes and failures related to your work. “I’d like to give a shoutout to Don for doing an amazing job delivering a new IT solution for HR metrics that has allowed me to improve the way I report to the Board.”
Work Together Example
Teams from different departments, such as Marketing, Product Design and Development, and Customer Experience, collaborate on a project to launch a new course. Each team contributes its expertise, ensuring the course is well-designed, effectively marketed, and meets customer needs. “I’d like to give a shout-out to Amy for going out of her way to help me develop the Shoutout process on Squawk when I was aware she had very tight deadlines for other responsibilities. I could not have done it without her support.”
Act Innovatively Example
Show courage to challenge the norm, raise ideas and see them through, striving for unwavering quality, performance excellence, and continuous improvements. “I’d like to give a shoutout to Cathy for the way she gracefully accepted constructive feedback relating to a customer concern that she was involved with, taking the feedback on board and immediately looking for ways to make improvements so it didn’t happen again.”
Deliver on Customer Needs Example
Identifying a gap in terms of a customer need, proactively working to address the action to identify and close the gap. “I’d like to nominate Jack for suggesting we run more regular recruitment sessions with our students to prepare them for their future careers. Without Jack’s knowledge of what students needed, we would not have known there was a need for more sessions.”
